The first track is an abrasive version of Daddy's Hands' Incest at Best from their forthcoming album, with a lovely introduction from velvet-voiced front-man Dave Wanger. The second track I don't have a title for yet (anyone out there?), but I'll speculate that it's titled Dirty Ways. As somebody mentioned in the comments below, the album is fucking awesome (as spectacular as it is damaged and abrasive), the artwork's by Jeff Ladouceur, and if a label doesn't pick this shit up and force-feed it to the populace, (according to an article in last week's Globe & Mail, mp3 blogs are a new and innovative method of doing it!) there's no justice left in this damn planet. I'm going to point to Dave Wanger as the Godhead of the multiple number of interesting bands associated with the Garden City (Frog Eyes, Frankie Sparo, Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Atlas Strategic, and more) and wait for someone to contradict me.

It's no secret (at least it shouldn't be) that Dave is one of the greatest Canadian songwriters and performers of our generation- hopefully some of the bands you mentioned will exploit some of their recently heightened influence to help get him his due after all of these years. Maybe someone ought to call Ondi Timoner to suggest DIG pt.2 as well, though that might prove to be the saddest film ever made.

My experience with Dave extends only a slight bit beyond the music, so I can't comment on his character, nor any stories (spurious or not) about how he chooses to spend his time. Unfortunate and terrible if true, certainly.

Dave is an amazing songwriter. he influenced my songwriting more than anyone while playing with him in daddy`s hands. he is the kind of person you either LOVE or HATE. he is drinking waayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy tooooo muchhhhhh. and he acts like an idiot when he is too drunk. but he is also the funniest guy if you want to hang out and put your brain at OFF. it is never boring. he is such a character. it is sad that not much people recognize how genius he is as a songwriter. Jonah (drums) is also a BIG part of what makes daddy`s hands so good. his drumming is very imaginative.
