Douglas Coupland was in Toronto for the IDS 2013 (Interior Design Show)... I interviewed him and we spoke about his new line of furniture with Vancouver design company switzercultcreative, Brooke Shields, iconic chairs of the 20th century (Warhol, Eames, et al.), and his brother, the taxidermist. We didn't get around to talking about books, but he did talk about writing and escritoires.
