Recorded at Motown Studios in Detroit in February 1966. On this recording, the Mynah Birds include Neil Young (who wrote this song), Bruce Palmer (who'd go on to form Buffalo Springfield with Young) and the incomparable Rick James on vocals. The band broke up after Rick James, who was AWOL from the US Navy, turned himself in, on the advice of Motown, acting under information about James' status provided by the manager who they had just fired for keeping their advance money.
