"I'm dead, bitches! This Ain't No Celebration..."

It's been a hot minute since I've added the personal Jenn Wong touch to this blog. Lots to type about this week, starting tonight with the much anticipated Pink Mountaintops CD Release show at the Anza Club, Vancouver. Also joining the stage will be Dan Bejar playing a solo Destroyer set. Look out for rising scene points. All advance tickets are sold out, doors open at 9pm and there are roughly 30-40 door tickets still available.

POINT OF INTEREST: Chess wizard Bobby Fischer renounces his US Citizenship. I know he is an anti-semitic crazy and all but I'd still let him stay at my house. Um...

Also - Rick James died, Friday August 6th. What?! That's right, friends. It took death of Rick James to bring me out of my internet blog-ster writers block!

Funk legend Rick James, best known for the 1981 hit ``Super Freak'' before his career disintegrated amid drug use and violence that sent him to prison, died Friday. He was 56. James died in his sleep at his residence near Universal City, said publicist Sujata Murthy. James lived alone and was found dead by his personal assistant, who notified police, she said. Police and Murthy believe James died of natural causes. The exact cause was not immediately released....
